Marc Jacobs - Decadence | NOTINO

27 April 2017

How long it has been since I've done a good ol' fragrance review huh? It feels like an eternity since I've shared a beautiful new scent with all of you on here. Finally, I've found a perfume that has instantly been added to my little smelly shelf of all my favourites. Fortunately, I've been able to work with Notino - a cosmetic, skincare and fragrance company that bring you all the highend and drugstore goodness for an incredibly discounted price. Not only are the products authentic, everything is encased in the original packaging and it arrives within days after purchase. I was a little ball of excitement when this arrived at my doorstep and have been itching to share this with you...

WELCOME TO MARC JACOBS DECADENCE!

Marc Jacobs are a fragrance and cosmetic brand, loved by all; however, I feel like the last person to have ever owned anything. Am I late on the bandwagon? Probably...Anyway, I was super excited to receive one of their more recent, signature fragrances that I have been lusting over for the past few months. After smelling this in store, I knew that it was next on my perfume radar. Decadence Eau de Parfum is a gorgeous feminine perfume that oozes glamour and sophistication. The deep woody scent is to die for and perfect for an evening out - making me feel sassy and sexy. This perfume elevates the luxurious name and reputation that Marc Jacobs have built up within the beauty industry, symbolizing nothing but brilliance. Encased in a stunning, revolutionary handbag-styled bottle, the deep green, black and gold merge together to illuminate the decadence aesthetic of the scent. With just a single spritz to the neck and wrists, you can purely indulge in the incredible rosy, plum and liquid amber scents that override the perfume. I literally own nothing in my perfume collection like this that makes me feel so confident in an outfit - it is crazy that a scent can do that to you, right? Or is that just me?

Have you ever tried a Marc Jacobs perfume? What is your favourite scent?

Lots of love

I've tried to include a variety of my favourite things - skincare, makeup, nail polish, a brush and summer-scented things in time for the new season. I'm hoping this little giveaway goes down well as I'd like to thank you for all of your support over the past 3 years and helping me to get this far. The Beginning to my Fitness Journey

20 April 2017

Throughout the past couple of months, I have really stepped it up on the fitness front. I generally eat healthier, cut out excess snacking, drink more water and more importantly, do a LOT more exercise. I'm not saying I run a marathon every weekend, I'm just improving my stamina and fitness levels by going on regular walks, runs and working on my 'summer bod'. This involves a lot of nights screaming in pain doing intense bum, leg and ab workouts on my bedroom floor - hard work and NOT fun! However, I've becoming so much more devoted to getting a better body as I have the motivation of my Mexico holiday swiftly approaching. I've also found that fitness has been one of my huge stress reliefs as exam season is underway. 6 smoothies and 15,000 steps later, I have managed to find the perfect website in order to find a fitness guru, perfect for you in a matter of minutes. BIDVINE is a local services tech startup, connecting costumers with the right service providrs in the UK. Keep reading to find out how to get you ideal personal trainer if you're trying to get into fitness like myself, wanting to find the perfect photographer to capture a blogger headshot or even piano lessons if you are music fanatic. This organisation work at finding the best possible match for your needs...this is how it works!

HOW IT WORKS

With an easily navigational site, you simply type your service request - 'personal training' - into the space provided, followed by your post code to find someone local and accessible. On submission request, questions of high specificity will be asked to ensure the personal trainer options and services are unique to your own wants. For example, 'What is your primary fitness goal?', 'Are you training for a specific event?' or 'Whether you prefer to work with a female or male trainer?' The process of finding your idealistic trainer is so rapid that it allows you to match almost instantaneously. Personal training is something I've always wanted to get into as I believe I need someone who will push me to my limits in order to achieve not only my goal of losing weight for holiday, but to motivate me into leading a healthier lifestyle. I would totally recommend checking out BIDVINE for personal training services as there are a great variety to choose from and you can be matched accordingly. Most importantly, I would recommend it to anyone simply wanting to get into fitness - whether you're a hardcore fitness freak or newbie, wanting to lose weight or get toned, there is something for everyone.

Have you heard of Bidvine Before? Would you love a personal trainer just as much as I would?

Nip+Fab Teen Skincare Range

18 April 2017

Skincare is something I've gotten seriously into over the past year; I've been taking more care of my face and gotten into a routine that has helped to improve it. I used to find skincare something that was really boring in the beauty industry back in my early teens. However, I've grown to love and learn about how important it is to take care of my skin. Most importantly, I've loved learning all about my skin and experimenting - finding the best products to help my skin become healthier and happier. This process involves a lot of trial and error but I've finally found the products that make my skin feel fresh and clean. Every night I try to make my skin a priority and I'm planning to share a full skincare routine involving my favourite products I use on a daily basis over on my Youtube channel in the near future.

Today's post is in collaboration with Nip+Fab. I feel incredibly lucky to be working with a brand that I have looked up to and been a fab of for a long time. The three products I'm going to be sharing with you are part of the Teen Skincare range - these skincare essentials are perfect for teenagers suffering with breakouts, painful spots and dry skin. The Teen Skin Fix range are packaged in white and lime green colours - perfect for spring! I love how sleek and mature the aesthetics of the brand are, as well as the simplicity of the logo and printed font.

My favourite product from the range is definitely the moisturiser. This is a great moisturizer for those with dry skin, although it is specifically designed for those with excess oils building on the surface of your face. For someone with dry skin, this has still worked wonders for me. The formula is super lightweight, you only need a small amount of product as it goes a long way and the feeling of the product on your face is luxurious. For an affordable price of £10, this product will last you a long time as you honestly only use a small amount for every application. Not only does this keep your face moisturised, the advanced formula prevents breakouts. The three main ingredients work in a coordinated manner to keep your skin free from harm and as smooth as possible. Wasabi extract is a antioxidant that inhibits the growth of bacteria on the skin's surface, zinc prevents the build up of oils on the skin (minimizing its appearance) and niacinamide helps to improve evenness of your skin tone. So far, this has stuck true to its word - I have a really uneven skin tone (my face is red and patchy) and this has definitely calmed it down. I literally recommend this to anyone who frequently suffers with breakouts or struggles to find a hydrating moisturiser that helps to draw out oils on the skin's surface too.

I tell you now - this will be every teenager's saviour. Although I don't suffer from regular breakouts, I know a lot of people who would really benefit from these skincare pads. With ingredients that actively work to remove oil and dirt clogging the pores, this product is certainly essential for anyone suffering major breakouts. Each pad is infused with wasabi extract, again, salicylic acid and witch hazel. Unwanted blemishes are abolished as rapidly as possible - these ingredients work in a coordinating fashion to deeply cleanse pores, relieves discomfort of the skin and prevent growth of bacteria on the outer surface. I highly recommend this to people on a low budget and suffering with uncomfortable breakouts.

SPOT ZAP

How ironic is it that when this popped through the letterbox a gigantic spot appears underneath my nose? Brilliant. At least I got to give this a whirl instantly and was pleasantly surprised by its instantaneous effect. In a portable, conveniently thin tube, this product is great to pop in your makeup bag, toiletry bag or even handbag if you're feeling self conscious about a particular spot(s). If you encounter troubled skin on a regular basis, I would definitely purchase this teen skin essential. The cold, metallic roller ball applicator, cools and reduces the area of concern. I literally love the smell of the eucalyptus enriched in the gel formula! Fresh scents are my favourite in skincare products as you can tell they have active ingredients that will improve the health of your face. Just like the breakout pads, they have purifying benefits to deliver a fast removal process of painful spots. This removed my spot in a matter of 3 days maximum, reducing the pain and redness after 3 uses! Incredible really, for just £7.99!

What are your favourite skincare brands? Do you own anything from Nip+Fab?

Summery Forest Vibes

15 April 2017

If you've been keeping up with my daily life through my vlogs, you will know how much I've been going on walks recently. Every single day last week I either went for a walk or a jog in a country park and that was a great achievement for me. In attempt to get a little bit fitter and tone up for my holiday, my health and fitness has been on my mind over the past couple of months. My diet has drastically changed, I've stopped snacking more and schedule my time better to fit in areas for fitness/walks. For mother's day, my boyfriend bought his mum a Fit Bit, as she's been trying to lose weight recently too - this has also encourages and motivated me which is an added bonus. However, my main point was that the Fit Bit app has monitored the amount of fat burned in all the different fitness activities she's partaken in. It showed that whenever she's done a simple walk at a brisk pace, the fat burned is between 90-100%, whereas a gym class only burns 60-70%. This really surprised me and motivated me to get out more - taking in the beautiful sights of nature and reminiscing about childhood memories spent in my favourite country parks. It has been so refreshing breathing in the country air, going for morning runs and exploring different forests. I will definitely be following up on my fitness journey so far on my blog before I go to Mexico at the end of June!

The Outfit

As you can see, my attire isn't quite cut out for the wilderness, despite the forest patterns and tropical colours. Nonetheless, I was super excited to start wearing my playsuits - in England, in SPRING! I can't quite believe how incredible the weather has been recently so was thrilled to be getting out my well loved playsuit collection so early this year. This beautiful summer number was bought in Topshop last year and is a loose, tropical, long-sleeved romper that is VERY comfortable. When it comes to summer outfits, comfort is definitely the key for me. Although I love tight-fitted clothing and how it can enhance my figure, loose clothing is just a winner during the hotter seasons because comfort is the most important thing in my eyes. My favourite features of the playsuit are the wider, float-y sleeves and the lace up detail down the front; they both add something different and more intricate to the playsuit making it one of my favourite pieces to wear in Summer. For shoes, I popped on some cerise flats from Primark (£3...bargain!) - super affordable and they have this gorgeous golden detail around the front rim. To match the gold addition, I opted for my favourite mirrored glasses from Firmoo. The golden temples complement the shoes and the gorgeous pink lens frames. As the day was hot, I wore a back pack instead of a standard handbag as we wanted to bring water, a jacket for emergencies and we were doing a 6 mile walk so carrying around a heavy bag for hours was NOT ideal. This mint green rucksack is handy for short or long travels; there are so many compartments, the fitting is comfortable on the back and my favourite part...it's affordable! It was only £5 from Primark!

What is your favourite Summer outfit? Do you prefer playsuits or dresses?

Brand Focus : Runway Rogue

13 April 2017

It feels like I haven't written a beauty review in so so long; thus I am very excited to share these gorgeous lip products from Runway Rogue. Runway Rogue are a cosmetic brand specializing in an incredible array of lip products. Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to work with them and share with you all my opinion on their glosses and matte lipsticks. With hydrating oils and extracts to pamper your lips, Runway Rogue have crafted lip products to keep your lips soft and moisturized, as well as give the perfect shine and finish.

Packaging-wise, both the lipstick and lipgloss arrived in similar cardboard tubes. The products were held in sleek, white boxes with thin black font imprinted on the front. Plastered on the front of each lip item is a 'swatch' of the colour on a model's lips - this is useful to know what the lip colour looks like on the lips. The lip image also completely complements the packaging and is accompanied by the lip colour's name on the right. The differences between the gloss and stick lie beneath the glowing white boxes. For the lipstick, it was encased in a metallic bullet with a classy silver and grey colour scheme. Alternatively, the lip gloss was held in a thin silver metallic tube with a sleek strip of the product shown through the centre, allowing the buyer to easily see the colour.

Lipstick

Head Over Heels - This lipstick was part of Runway Rogue's extensive matte range. A deep mauve with pink undertones, slightly more intense than an every day colour but perfect for my taste. I love wearing earthy-toned lipsticks on a daily basis, as it really suits my darker hair colour. This colour is essential for all year round; whether you're wearing it for an evening out, a classy meal or for everyday wear like myself, you are sure to love this colour. Also, I think the colour is super universal and will fit every skin tone - pale, tanned and dark! I literally cannot wait to pair it with sharp winged liner and flushed cheeks. Oh, and the lipsticks also contain a variety of ingredients that are beneficial for your lips. For instance, a favourite of mine is jojoba oil as it helps to soften and hydrate your lips without clogging your pores. These lipsticks retail for $21 and I think they are definitely worth the money - the longevity is equivalent, if not better, to the other highend lipsticks I've tried on the market and the pigmentation is intense.

Lipgloss

Supermodel - Opening this lipgloss, I was so excited as I'd seen so many bloggers and reviews regarding this gorgeous gloss. I am literally obsessed with using glosses at this time of year and have seriously been getting into wearing them more often. Therefore, my expectations were high - especially after seeing the gorgeous metallic packaging the product arrived in. The product is easily swept onto the lips with the doe-foot applicator - enabling the ability to apply as simply and accurately as possible. Colour-wise, the gloss forms a peach-to-coral toned layer on the lips, without being overwhelming. This looks gorgeous for the upcoming hot months on its own, as well as pairing it over a striking, pigmented peach lipstick. I cannot wait to find the perfect combo to accompany this gorgeous gloss. Again, this product contains natural ingredients, like green tea extract, to rejuvenate and hydrate the lips whilst in use. Retailing at $19, this gloss is not on the cheap side but I would definitely recommend it for its longevity, feel on the lips, the overall finish and it will look fab layered over your favourite summer lipsticks!

What are your favourite brands for lip products? Do you prefer gloss or lipstick?

Mini Egg Unicorn Bark Recipe

9 April 2017

YAY! I'm back with another Easter recipe post this year. Last year, I tried to make Creme Egg Brownies and they failed...However, I've managed to master the recipe and you can go and watch the video of me making them over on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. On the blog this year, I'm going to share with you a new recipe that I've just discovered. After scoping Pinterest over the past couple of weeks, I've seen so many people trying and making 'Unicorn Bark'. This is simply melted chocolate coated in any topic of your choice - so easy to make, fun for the family and a great Easter treat. I imagine this would be great if you had kids or for a girly sleepover. I've decided to put my own personal twist on the 'recipe' by incorporating mini eggs so that it's Spring/Easter inspired.

Enjoy...

INGREDIENTS

360g White Chocolate (we melted milky buttons)

Food Colouring (Pink, Blue, Orange, Yellow)

Marshmallows

Hundreds and Thousands

Mini Eggs (half crushed, half whole)

METHOD

1. Fill a small saucepan with water. Place all of the white chocolate into a mixing bowl and put inside the saucepan. Ensure the bowl is not touching the water and turn to a low heat. Melt the chocolate - mix with a wooden spoon to quicken the process and check at regular intervals, making sure the chocolate doesn't burn.

2. Once the chocolate is all melted, pour directly into your baking tin of choice. We used a simple small rectangular tin. Do not worry if the mixture is not even as it added to the later effect.

3. Using a cocktail stick, dip into the different food colourings (little drops at a time) and swirl the colours into the chocolate. This creates all the different colours running through the mixture. We used blue, pink, yellow and orange for the Spring-inspired look.

4. Finally, add whatever toppings you desire. We chose hundreds and thousands, pink and white marshmallows and mini eggs. Feel free to crush up some mini eggs to add as toppings, as well as leaving some whole.

5. Simply leave in the fridge to cool and harden. Snap of a slice and enjoy. It is such an easy recipe to make, super child friendly and tastes so yummy! I literally cannot wait to make these again as a cute girly sleepover treat.

What are your favourite Easter recipes? Do you love mini eggs as much as I do?

The Ultimate Men's Gift Guide | Affordable to Luxury

6 April 2017

Let's be honest...men are always a struggle to buy for. Whenever it comes round to a male relative's or my boyfriend's birthday, I have to plan far in advance to make sure I can find something that they will love and use. Being with my boyfriend for almost 4 years has given me an incredible amount of present ideas for males, even for all ages. I've spent countless hours searching the internet for perfect gifts ideas for men that aren't so generic or useless. Spending all this time (and money) on finding the best gift possible, I've decided to compile a list of my favourite things I've bought or thought were interesting that I've gifted my boyfriend over the past few years... Hopefully this helps all you girls, and maybe even guys, out there struggling to find the right gift for the special men in your life. I've also managed to include products with a range of prices so if you want to spoil your boyfriend with a luxurious gift or even if you're on a budget, there's something here for you!

LUXURY

Globenfeld Super Sport Watch

Nothing can beat a sleek, heavy timepiece for that special guy in your life. Globenfeld sell a great range of watches that will mimick the ideal luxury gift for your man. This indulgent watch is encased in a slick grey case with the brand's name embossed in silver metallic font on the box. Everything about the watch is deluxe - silver hardware, an intricate dial and a pop of orange if you want some colour. If someone's birthday is coming up, I highly recommend checking out Globenfeld's current deal on Amazon - they are selling this £500+ watch for just £50! The deal is absolutely incredible considering the weight, aesthetic, quality and longevity of the actual product...GRAB IT WHILE YOU CAN.

Aftershave

Secondly, an absolute classic present for a guy is a well-known aftershave. With this idea, you can play around with scents that you know he will like, read online reviews to see other's opinions and smell them for yourselves if you love shopping in public. Personally, I like to smell the aftershaves physically, write down the names of the scents you prefer and have a look online. You can find some incredible deals on the internet, helping you save a lot of money rather than you buying in store. Some of the best, more luxurious scents I've bought my boyfriend and absolutely love myself are : Hugo Boss Bottled Night and Tom Ford Velvet Orchid. I really recommend Feel Unique to get the best fragrance deals!

QUIRKY GIFT IDEAS

Levitating Globe

I never bought this for my boyfriend but I have definitely eyed it up a few times whenever I scroll past it. This is right up my boyfriend's street but obviously isn't as universal as the aftershave. If you dad, brother or boyfriend enjoy quirky gifts then this one will be perfect! This levitating globe is honestly mesmerising - my boyfriend and I cannot comprehend how it works because it apparently 'defies all the laws of physics'. The whole concept of it is so interesting and I think it's quite therapeutic spinning on your desk as you are working.

Smart Phone Projector

Alternatively, a Smart Phone projector is great for men who love to watch films, youtube videos or TV series. Simply pop your phone into the projector and it displays your image up to 10x bigger on your wall. No more straining your eyes from watching a whole 2 hour film on your phone; this acts as your own personal TV for at least 10x cheaper! These retail at around £20 and consists of a retro cardboard box and multiple lenses in order to magnify your phone screen. It is so clever how this works and is a fab, and very different, gift idea to the classics.

AFFORDABLE

Books/Magazine Subscription

If you're on a bit of a budget, then books are always a great option for those who love to read. Although my male relatives aren't massive book geeks, my boyfriend loves to read so books, or even a magazine subscription, goes down really well. All you need to know is the genre of book he likes, whether he likes a specific series or author and you're good to go. Whenever books are handpicked for me they always seem special, as someone has taken the time out of their day to find a book they think I will read and love. Even though they don't cost much, they can mean a lot so I always spend a long time finding the perfect one. Magazine subscriptions regarding football or the National Geographic also make great gifts for male readers!

Skin and Hair Care

Although many boys won't like to admit it, they like to take pride in their appearance. Skincare and Hair Care are two prominent things that men take into account before leaving the house. One trick I always do is look in my boyfriend's bathroom to scout what products he's currently using or whether there is a product he is particularly running low on. This works a treat - he will be shocked to see that you know what products he loves and uses every single day. You also know that it is money well spent, as they 100% will get the use out of the product.

PERSONALISED

Finally, all guys love a personalised gift - even if they are afraid to admit it. Over the years, I have written a message in a bottle, personalised mini pop-up cubes with messages/pictures on, written letters and the latest being a personalised photo snow globe. There is so much meaning and thought behind a personalised gift that it makes it so sentimental and special. I whole-heartedly prefer a personalised gift to something materialistic as I always feel a special connection with it. There are so many products you can personalise nowadays - the internet has it all! Whether it's a framed photo of your partner's favourite song, or a family photo print on a cushion...you will be able to find the right present for your man.

Do you struggle buying for boys as much as I did? What is your favourite thing in this gift guide?

Lots of love
