Degusta Food Subscription Box | January 2018

1 February 2018

Degusta Box are a company that package 10-15 food/drink items into a huge cardboard box and send it to your door every single month. My flat mate and I love trying out new subscription boxes and thought this would be a perfect idea for us students - a food care package to make our month a little bit brighter. We were so excited when we received our huge boxes at our mailroom and couldn't wait to share with you all every single item that we received in our first Degusta Box.

DRINKS

Mahtay Yerba Mate Sparkling Tea (RRP £1.49) -
'Mahtay is a lightly sparkling drink that was designed with today's busy, health-conscious lifestyle in mind'. I love trying out new brands and Mahtay is something that I've never come across before. Although I haven't tasted this yet, I'm super excited to give it a go and let you guys know if it's any good. I mean anything could beat the Lincoln tap water to be honest...

Robinson's Pressed Pear and Elderflower Fruit Cordial (RRP £2.49)
One of the most exciting things that we received in our January Degusta Box definitely has to be this Robinson's cordial. Contained in a glass bottle, this deliciously fruity drink is something that I've been obsessed with over the past couple of weeks trying it. I'm obsessed with fruity flavours so this item was perfect for me. There is also a chance you could receive two other flavours.

LighterLife Fast Ready to Drink Milkshakes (RRP £2.49 each)
Fortunately, I received two of these milk shakes in my box. If you know me, you will know how much I love and drink milkshakes so this was lovely to see in my January box. The fact that these are part of the 'New Year New Me' section implies these are healthier than your standard milkshake. I've already tried both of these milkshakes and can safely say they taste amazing. You can pick them up in Superdrug if you want to purchase one to try youself.

Explore Cuisine Organic Edamame & Mung Bean Fettuccine Pasta (RRP £3.00)
One of the more expensive products packed into this student friendly care package was this Fettuccine pack, serving 3-4 meals. I'm so excited to try out a healthier pasta with a low carb content and high in protein. The product contains a high percentage of plant-based protein and fibre per serving - another healthy option in the box! I will let you guys know in my vlogs how I get on with this...

Jordans Juicy Red Berry Frusli Bars (RRP 45p each)
Another double product in the box were these two frusli bars from the infamous Jordans. Compact with 'zingy cranberries and raisins', this makes for the ideal university snack to help fill your cravings as well as keeping it healthy. I really loved the sweet, fruity taste; despite my distaste for raisins. Cranberries are definitely the overpowering flavour, which makes these a great snack option for me to opt for instead of a bag of Cadbury's Caramel Nibbles.

Pulsin Vanilla Choc Chip Protein Booster (RRP £1.59)
I've never tried any protein products from Pulsin before and was extremely excited to taste a protein booster than didn't contain dates or raisins. Why do all companies have to include dates?! I absolute hate them! Anyway, I tasted this last night after a workout in my cramped university room and OMG. I've finally found a protein bar that I like and can genuinely say tastes delicious. The flavour is vanilla chocolate chip so if you're into sweeter tasting bars like myself, this one is for you too!

Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna Steaks (RRP £3.49)
Something I've never really like is tuna steaks but being the fussy eater I am, there was no doubt I'd receive something that I didn't like. However, it actually worked out perfectly, as my friend Hattie is lactose intolerant so I swished my tuna steaks (and chipotle mayo) with her two milkshakes. Win-win! For those interested in this product, it is ranked #1 in the US by Greenpeace for sustainability and there is no added salt!

LATIN AMERICAN KITCHEN Chipotle Mayo Topping (RRP £1.80)
Another product that isn't my sorta thing is this chipotle mayo topping from Latin American Kitchen. Hattie was happy to now own two of these haha! I'm not a mayo girl so had to skip this one but I know a lot of people are... I do love hot/spicy things though!

Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce (RRP £1.89)
Another exciting product that I received was this Green Pepper Tabasco sauce. I loooove this stuff and am super excited to incorporate it into some of my bland university meals. The sauce is made from mild green jalapeno peppers mixed with vinegar and salt. This product is not always received in every box - you may instead receive Miso Tasty soup or Mallow & Marsh.

Clipper Everyday Organic Tea
This product was a gift sample, containing 10 organic tea bags from the wonderful Clipper. The usual full-sized version can be purchased at £3.69 for a box of 100, which is a great value for money. I'm an avid tea drinker so I've almost finished the entire packet. I love these a lot and highly recommend for any other tea loving people out there!

Pulsin Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (RRP £1.99)
Again, we have another product from Pulsin which I've also tasted. I love this protein powder mixed with my Alpro Almond Unsweetened milk. This powder is rich in essential amino acids and high in calcium! If you're vegetarian or looking for a protein powder low in fat, then I would certainly recommend checking out Pulsin!

Hershey's Cookie's n Cream Snack Pack (RRP £1.00)
Finally, my absolute favourite product in the box would have to be the Hersheys Cookies n Creme 5 Snack Pack. Although these are probably the unhealthiest option in the box, the mini snack size is perfect to ensure I don't binge eat a whole entire bar. Another great product for taking with me to lectures for a nice snack. I'm so happy with these, I have a REAL sweet tooth!

CODE: CHARLOTTER-ACAC to receive February's box for only £6.00!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT FROM THE JANUARY BOX? WILL YOU PURCHASE A FEB DEGUSTA BOX?!

Lots of love
