Threads Lashes : REVIEW

12 August 2016

Lashes are something that have grown on me and have become a massive lover of since the first time I started to wear makeup. Prior to my makeup obsession, I only wore false lashes when performing in dance shows or theatre productions - I love drama and dance by the way if you didn't already know! Anyway, I used to think they were a nightmare - always falling off, irriating my eyes and having to take 101 attempts to fix them into the perfect place. However, I think lashes can simply bring together a makeup look, whether it be the day or evening, there is always something out their to suit your preference. If I have time in the morning or want to be a bit more glam, I will opt for some natural wispies to make my eyes pop and stand out. Alternatively, I love to wear lashes to completely glam up my makeup look for a night out or a special occasion. The advantages and range of different lashes in the beauty world are endless.

Threads are a new brand I've started to work with; fortunately, they sent me 10 pairs of their stunning range of lashes to test. Threads are a beauty brand that mainly specialise in eyelashes. Their range is absolutely huge, housing plenty of styles to suit whatever the want, need or occasion. Over the past few weeks, I have been wearing these lashes at every opportunity to make this review as accurate and honest and possible.

Packaging-wise, each pair of individual lashes comes in a red cardboard box. I personally love the colour choice - red is classy and sophisticated. However the actual packaging itself falls apart after you've opened it a single time. You can put it back together again quite simply but the actual material is relatively flimsy and not as sturdy as I would have liked. Each pair of lashes comes with a handy adhesive glue located at the rear of the packaging. Honestly, I was not expecting much at all from the glue as partnered glues with lashes I've tried before are always useless, but to tell the truth, the glue seriously surprised me. My lashes were locked in place after letting the glue set for 30 seconds, they never moved for the rest of my day/evening and were not uncomfortable on the eyelid. Even better, they are fragrance and latex free, allowing a wider audience to experience their lashes as well as getting rid of the horrible glue scent many lash companies create.

Angel Eyes - these pair are perfect for a dramatic look, whether it be for an evening event or halloween inspired, I think these lashes are for you. The strand you apply the glue to is very sturdy and thin, ensuring appliance is smooth. I will definitely be rocking this pair with a dark smokey eye, glitter and bold liner. Oooo let's not forget a deep red lip!

Vava Voom are essentials for those who love to pair an evening, clubbing or going out look with some lashes. For me, these are a must - I love finding a suitable pair of lashes to compliment my makeup look. These lashes are long, fairly thick and relatively dramatic, although not too much. They are much more subtle than Angel Eyes, enabling me to wear them out without being too self conscious.

Rock Chic are the type of 'pick-me-up' lashes when I'm having a bad makeup/eye/face day. Wearing lashes, although natural, seem to help increase my confidence levels if my makeup hasn't gone quite to plan. Thus, these thin, wispies give that long natural lash look - something I always look for when looking for the perfect daily use falsies.

Sex Kitten are the lashes I feel will be hardest to pull off for myself. I am quite tentative when it comes to dramatic eye makeup - too conscious that people will judge me (stupid, I know). These lashes flare outwards, are super black and look crazy! I love crazy and I hope one day I will pluck up the courage to wear these out somewhere. I feel they would look perfect for a dress-up themed party; for instance, cat woman or something like that? Any suggestions?!

Which pair of lashes were your favourite? Mine are the Vava Voom ones!

Lots of love

  1. I love the look of lashes on but I find them so hard to apply. Also I giggled when you wrote 'lashes have grown on me' as they do even though you were talking about falsies ahaha. Ok maybe it was just me that laughed! Great Post lovely xx
